Our Cruise to Cancun, Cozumel and Roatan, Honduras
(September 2000)
Mike and I went on a cruise in September of 2000. It was a wonderful time spent with wonderful friends! Now I'm trying to talk Mike into another cruise!  I'm not exactly sure where I want to go, but I would love to see Alaska!

Arriving in Cancun, we took the shortest excursion available, which was a 2 hour overview of Cancun.  It turned out to be really neat though.  We arrived in Cancun just 4 days after Hurricane Gordon was there and the tour driver told us it was the first day it hadn't rained.  It might as well have rained.  It was 109 (F) degrees and the humidity was horrible!  We were soaked with sweat by the time we got on the bus!  After the tour, we shopped and ate at a mall that was on the beach.  What a wonderful sight!

While Mike and Jeremy went on their deep sea fishing trip that they had set up over the Internet, Rena and I went shopping in Cozumel.  We spent the most part of the day spending our life savings on stuff for family and friends!  Mike and Jeremey couldn't wait to get to Cozumel so that they could go fishing, and then a tropical storm offshore kept them from going out into the deep water!  They did get to troll between Cozumel and the mainland of Mexico, but they didn't catch anything other than a buzz from the beer that the captain had brought along for them.  After fishing and shopping, we met up and Jeremy and I got to go parasailing.  Although it was the only thing I had on my "must do" list, it was only one of the many highlights of our trip!

These are photos that Mike took of me as I was parasailing. Below are the photos that I took while I was parasailing. Be sure to take a disposable waterproof camera with you when you go parasailing. It's AWESOME!
Mike and I went jet skiing and snorkling in Roatan, so we didn't take our digital camera, not knowing what to do with it while we played in the water.  We found out when we arrived, that they had lockers!  So all our photos of Roatan were taken after our excursions.  Darn!  Now we have to go back and take photos!  *grin*  The snorkling in Roatan is fabulous!  We snorkled in water about chest deep and saw all sorts of tropical fish in and among the coral.  The coral was fascinating to watch as the fish would swim in and out of it.  We ended up going out to water about 25 feet deep and clear as glass.  So neat to see the starfish at the bottom of the ocean while we floated over them!  Had we known the snorkling was so fantastic, we would have passed on the Jet skiing, although Mike had a blast as he was the one "driving".
