Here are some of our photos of our trip to Matamoras, Mexico via Corpus Christi and Brownsville, Texas. We went in May 2001 and had a great time.
On the way down, we stopped in Corpus Christi to spend the night, starting off early the following morning to head to Brownsville. We stayed in Brownsville and crossed over into Matamoras to visit. We also went to South Padre Island while we were there. We all enjoyed being out of Houston, if only for a long weekend.

RIGHT: Replica of Christopher Columbus' ship.
We were there the weekend they dedicated the statue of Selena on the waterfront. We just missed the ceremony, but stayed to take photos of the statue and memorial.
ABOVE: The hotel we stayed in was 1 block from the Rio Grande River and 2 blocks from the International Border Crossing. These were taken at our hotel.
ABOVE: We walked over into Mexico and got a taxi to take us to the Market Square. We enjoyed walking around the rest of the day. We ate lunch at a restuarant in Mexico. Very good!
Boredom overtook the boys as we drove to Padre Island to spend the day. Aren't they cute? Makes a mother proud! LOL!
